Meet Jennifer DeSantis

I am honored to announce that I, Jennifer DeSantis, will be running for a position on the Marlboro Central School District Board of Education.

For the past six years, my family and I have proudly called Marlboro home. My husband, Dante DeSantis, is a Marlboro High School graduate from the Class of 1991, and our daughter is currently in the fifth grade at Marlboro Elementary School.

I am currently an active member of the Marlboro Elementary School PTA and have been for the last five years, serving as both Secretary and Treasurer. During that time, I’ve had the opportunity to help organize fun and meaningful events for students, staff, and members of the Marlboro community.

Through my involvement with the PTA, I have seen firsthand how important a welcoming and supportive environment is for families. The goal has always been to create opportunities that bring students and parents together while strengthening the school community through involvement and collaboration.

This involvement enables parents to stay informed about what is happening in our schools and feel comfortable sharing concerns, ideas, and feedback. These connections help build a stronger school community and encourage families to remain engaged in their children’s education. Every voice deserves to be heard and valued as we work together to make the Marlboro Central School District and the community the best it can be.

If elected, I hope to bring the same teamwork and collaboration to The Board of Education, The Marlboro Faculty Association, and School Administration together with a shared focus of supporting the students of the Marlboro Central School District. The number one goal of any Board of Education should always be to ensure that every child from the first day of Pre-K through the last day of 12th grade has a safe learning environment and access to an education that empowers them to achieve their dreams and become productive members of society.

I am currently employed at Ulster BOCES as the Secretary to the Assistant Superintendent for Administration and Chief Operations Officer. In this role, I have many responsibilities. The main focus being the managing of the agency’s contracts, comparing costs, and ensuring that all student personally identifiable information (PII) is legally protected.

Additionally, I work with Administration and Risk Management to help ensure that the District-Wide School Safety Plan remains updated and aligned with regulations mandated by the New York State Education Department.

My employment at Ulster BOCES has provided me the ability to learn and gain valuable knowledge related to bids, budget development, capital projects, grants, school safety and various committees. I believe these experiences have provided me with the background and perspective necessary to serve as a beneficial and dedicated member of the Marlboro Board of Education.

Prior to my current role at Ulster BOCES, I spent the previous 17 years working in the Environmental Safety sector, which provided me with extensive knowledge of safety protocols and regulations. Safety is something I care deeply about and will be one of my priorities to the students of Marlboro.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I look forward to meeting more community members on voting day, Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
